#iluminaelmundo

 Hola a todos!

Not much has happened over here since Wednesday so this will probably be pretty short. Light the World has been the talk of the town over here.

We put together a ward activity as la obra misional to kick off #lighttheworld. We put together four stations of simple service that represented each week; light the world, light the community, light your family, light your faith. It was fun to gather together as a ward family and just do little things to serve and help others. One thing that I have learned is that service doesn't have to be some big project. It can be as simple as a smile and a wave.

Sunday was great because Lupe, miracle Maria, and Jason all came to church! It was so cool to see Lupe at church again. He was social like always and he just loves being there. He loves the Book of Mormon and the way he feels when he reads it. He has already changed so much and we are so excited for the rest of his journey!

Jason is also doing awesome! He passed his baptismal interview and is ready to be baptized next week! His friend is so excited for him. He was going around church telling everyone about his baptism. He came up to us and was like, "Jason is getting baptized next week!" Jason was right behind him and he goes, "They know, they're the ones that made me." It was so funny. We are all so excited. He knows he's ready and he's even excited too.

I hope you all had the chance to watch the First Presidency Christmas devotional yesterday. It was so good to hear from the prophet. I love how he talked about making covenants, or promises, with God. That is something that has been on my mind a lot lately. He said, “With our thoughts and feelings so focused on the Savior of the world, what, then, do we need to do to receive these gifts offered to us so willingly by Jesus Christ? What is the key to loving as He loves, forgiving as He forgives, repenting to become more like Him and ultimately living with Him and our Heavenly Father?”

The key is to make and keep sacred covenants, said President Nelson. “We choose to live and progress on the Lord’s covenant path and to stay on it. It is not a complicated way. It is the way to true joy in this life and eternal life beyond.”

I love that so much. I love how Christ has helped and changed me so much. I love being a missionary and sharing His gospel.  You already know I am making the most of this last week.

Quote of the week:
"Made in the USA, no wonder it tastes weird..."
"You probably call it x-mas too!"

I love you all so much!
