Prior Lake is beautifulllll |
Hola hola hola
Alright people I need your help. We taught one of our members knock knock jokes and I have never seen someone laugh soooo hard at knock knock jokes. I am fresh our of jokes so this is where you come in, I need everyone to send me a joke because we promised we would have more. Oh and if anyone has any Spanish jokes, even better!
Also big news for the MMM we are taking social media! Don't know many details yet but if you see me on there that's why! More details to come!
One of the many small miracles this week:
We had a lot of appointments and things this week so we didn't have as much time to find new investigators. But we set a goal that was higher than our previous weeks because we felt that we could do it. We realized that Saturday and Sunday were basically booked and suddenly it was 8:30 pm on Friday. We still needed to find a few more new investigators to reach our goal for the week. Earlier, we were looking through our dropped investigators trying to find more people to visit and Hna. Meredith found one we both felt good about going to see. So we went to see her and when we pulled up she was in her trailer with the lights on and we both made eye contact with her through the window. As we walked up to her front door, she ran to the back of the trailer and turned all the lights off. We knocked three times but with no luck we decided we would just take the next 30 minutes to do some finding before we had to head home. The English sisters in the area said they found someone in this park who didn't speak very much English, but seemed interested. The only thing was, they forgot to write down their house number and could only remember what their car looked like. So here we are, walking down the street looking for a white car with a broken fender. Then we saw this neon poster and it was dark so I couldn't make the words out but it didn't look like English. Turns out it's all these Spanish foods for sale including menudo (intestine). So we were like alright let's give it a knock. The door was already open so we were like okay please please talk to us. Then two teenagers came to the door, let us right in, and told us to wait while they got their mom (yes yes that's what we like to hear). We shared the Prince of Peace video about Jesus Christ and bore simple testimonies of His importance to us, invited them to pray daily, set a return appointment, and prayed with them. We walked back to our car and noticed that the lady we originally wanted to visit had closed all her curtains and the lights were back on, but we didn't care because Heavenly Father had given us a miracle of meeting this sweet family.
I want to share two lessons that I learned from this experience:
1. The Lord makes a way for us to reach our goals when we work hard and have faith.
I have learned the importance of setting inspired goals and finding a way to accomplish them, even when you only have 15 minutes left. Because we had a goal in mind and we trusted in our Heavenly Father to help us out, and He delivered. I know that Heavenly Father makes a way for all of His children to accomplish great things.
2. We are led to places to accomplish different things than we plan on.
We both felt good about visiting this dropped investigator who turned out to be less than uninterested. But because we were in that area, at that time, we had the opportunity to meet others that want to give the gospel a chance. I know that when we are prepared we are ready to be an instrument in the Lord's hands at any chance we get. The Lord knows better than us who we need to talk to, because of this we need to trust in His will even when it's not what we think is going or even should happen.
