Bueno bueno buenoooo
Not much new over here. Transfers are tomorrow but we survived and we will be staying together another one wooooo! Hermana Saldaña just finished training and she is a rockstar. I am so so excited to spend another 6 weeks here in Minne with people I love so much.
This week has seemed like a pretty normal one over here, a fair share of teaching, finding, and miracles- just an all around good time.
Last week we hadn't had much success finding and it was Saturday. We were still two people off from our goal so we prayed to know where we needed to be to find them. This one person we met a bit ago kept coming to mind so we decided to go to his complex. We walked by a different building we felt like we should try so we did. We met so many cool people that weren't in our records! We basically spent all our time there and didn't end up getting in with the person i had originally thought of. It was a good reminder that sometimes our purpose for being somewhere and the Lord's purpose for being there aren't always the same. We have to be in tune with the Spirit to follow His plan which is always better anyway. I love experiences like these that help us know that we were right where we were supposed to be.
Two funny stories from the week for those of you who are still with me:
Ricardo is just the funniest guy. This week while visiting him he said about 2,371,930 more words than he usually does. We were super short on time and so we were trying to wrap it up but every time he would interrupt us. My compa was like, "En el nombre de.." cut off. Then I gave it a go, "Compartimos estas coasa en..." cut off. This happened four times and then we just had the giggles and couldn't stop laughing.
Next one happened in the morning. We had just tried to visit someone with no luck and so we headed early to our next place and as we walk by the rental office, the manager comes out and he is like, "Hey ladies could you come in here for a sec? We just want to talk to you, ask you a few questions." I was like oh no, what did we do? We walk in and he looks at his coworker and he says, "I found these two walking around outside, should we tell them the rules?" I was racking my brain thinking, did they get us on camera doing something wrong, I couldn't think of anything. Then he goes, "I'm just kidding Sisters we are members too." We were dying like okay you got us on that one!
Okay fine two more.
So on Monday we had dinner scheduled with a member and she said she wasn't answering and we had a different offer for dinner so we said yes. Then she replied and said she wasn't going to be home at all. So these members are neighbors. They live like two doors down from each other at some town homes. We get out of the car to knock on the door of our dinner and the other member comes walking out of her door. Hermana Saldana ducks so quick behind a van but I had already started walking up to the othed door and couldn't just run away so we just had a nice encounter...
We had our Halloween party on Thursday and earlier we were accounting with our district leader. He kept asking us what we were going to be and we kept saying random things and then were like jk we aren't going to be that. So at the end we were like okay we will tell you what we are actually going to be, Salt and Pepper! He was like, "No that is way too lame tell me the truth." We thought it was so funny because we actually did go as that amd the ward members thought it was a hoot. It was a great time to meet some people's friends and set up appointments with those we haven't seen at church lately.
I feel like these probably aren't as funny as I think they are but we have a good time. Missionaries are allowed to have fun too.
This week as I was reading about the conversion of King Lamoni I loved the words of Alma as he explained the change that had taken place as the light of the gospel had entered King Lamoni. He says in Alma 19:6, "yea, this light had infused such joy into his soul, the cloud of darkness having been dispelled, and that the light of everlasting life was lit up in his soul, yea, he knew that this had overcome his natural frame, and he was carried away in God"
When we give ourselves to God we find true joy. It is so worth every sacrafice we have to make and however inconvenient it feels. Through Him we find true lasting happiness. I'm not lying, try it out.
