Hola hola hola

Happy New Year! It's 2018 already? Can someone please slow down the clock for me? Okay thanks.

So this crazy thing happened and long story short, Sister Grover is working with us!! The trio life has been crazy this week. Especially because the three of us are running two areas right now and scheduling and driving everywhere has been super crazy. But also so much fun! Also explains the name of this letter, both our areas names mixed together and we are doing both English and Spanish work. This trio will be done with tomorrow... just when Sister Grover is starting to get this whole Spanish thing. :( ahhh it has been such a good time.

Also HOLA, yes, I am alive. -34 wind chill has no hold on us or the work out here. But yes it is a lot harder to run around when you have four layers, the wind feels like icicles stabbing your face, and your nose freezes when you breathe in. It's quite the experience, everyone should try it out at least once. Funny story though that makes us sound like fools but it solved our problem so listen up. Our windshield was super dirty and our wiper fluid wasn't working, so we poured water on our windshield to clean it up but it froze before our eyes.... Problem solved though because when we scraped off the ice and it was squeaky clean.

This week has been absolutely insane. A lot of people have been using the weather as an excuse not to open their door at all and everyone has been crazy busy with the holidays. I think I've heard the phrase "yo les avsio" enough times this week for all of 2018. But on a more positive note we were able to have lessons with two less actives we haven't been able to get in with for the whole five months I've been here in Lakeville.

One of them was particularly awesome. We stopped by to see if his mom was there and hoping our recent convert would be hanging around too but they were out of the house. We asked if we could share a message with him and his kids and he surprisingly let us in. Although we didn't plan for him because we didn't know he would be there and even let us in, we felt inspired to share a message about seeking Christ. He completely opened up to us about how he has been wanting to go back to church to be an example to his kids but he just doesn't know how to go about it. The Spirit is my favorite. I know Heavenly Father has a perfect plan for us but I am still so amazed that he was able to guide us to one of his struggling children and give us the words he needed to hear. Ahhhhh so cool right? When we left Hna Sully says, "That was the best lesson we've had... in English." Love her.

Okay one last quick thought I want to share. This week I read a sad chapter in the Book of Mormon when the Lord allows righteous people to be burned by fire. Amulek suggests to save them but Alma tells him that by the Spirit he knows they shouldn't.  But instead he says "Be it according to the will of the Lord." When we live according to the will of the Lord, everything seems to work out. We trust him and he takes care of things the way they should be. In this case, righteous people suffered at the expense of others agency. But in the end they were saved into the kingdom of heaven, according to the will of the Lord. This is a great theme to focus on in 2018 and after that, the rest of life.

I want to invite all of you to think of something you want to focus on this year that will help you draw closer to the Savior and Heavenly Father's specific and individual plan for you.

Have a great week and stay true to you resolutions (before they're out the window). I love you all!
