falling apart o falling together?

Blizzard last Monday

Hahahahhaha

WHAT A WEEK.

Literally everything fell apart.

Then almost everything fell back together.

Let me explain.

Monday night there was supposed to be a baptism in Lakeville of someone that I taught there. We got permission to go and left a little early to get there on time because it was snowing baaaddd. As soon as we pulled in to the church parking lot, we got a text from the Lakeville Hermanas saying that it was rescheduled... at this point the blizzard was horrible so we had to stay the night in Lakeville, President's orders.

Hna Turner said, "When everything is falling apart it is actually falling together."

Little did we know how many times we would repeat that phrase the rest of the week.

Tuesday we had to drive home and we were off to a horrible start because we were already behind schedule. At the same time we were trying to find some people to help at a blessing but no one answered because everyone was at work, this was stressing us out even more. Then an hour before the blessing everything magically and beautifully fell into place.

Wednesday though, Hna Hudman woke up so dead. I knew her symptoms too well, she had symptoms of influenza.. We went to the doctor and sure enough it was just that! This meant we were about to be locked up in the apartment until she was fever free for 24 hours.

This ruled out WednesdayThursdayFriday work wise. Thursday night we were pacing around and praying as she took her tempature and miracles, it was gone! We only had 24 hours left of the craziness.

Friday we spent the last day locked up trying to invite every investigator possible and get ourselves a ride to this concert, "The Lamb of God" here's how it went:

We got an investigator who said she wanted to come.
We called every willing member we could think of and finally found one who wanted to come with us.
Our investigator said oh wait I don't know anymore for sure, I'll let you know at 6.
We told the member we would let her know when we do.
At 6:30 she said okay I just got home we can go!
We called the hna that said she could take us and she said she already made other plans.
So we were scrambling for a ride and magically called a member who was on her way and was willing to pick up our investigator
Everything fell into place even if it was less than 45 minutes before the program started

Then Saturday rolled up and we were supposed to go to the temple with a recent convert for baptisms.
Somehow she got scheduled to work when we planned to go so we called the temple and called a group to see if we could join them.
But then her shift magically got changed and she was able to go

Finishing the week at the temple was amazing. Ely had the most amazing time. She said the stresses of the world were just eating at her but as soon as she walked into the doors of the temple she felt all those stresses just disappear. I have such a strong testimony of the temple. It is the most sacred place on the earth! I loved being there and just being able to pray and feel the abundance of the Spirit that is always always in the house of the Lord.

Besides the week being crazy, I am still happy as ever. Why? Because I love being a missionary and the calling I have to be a full-time servant of the Lord.  Also because I have failed to mention all the good that came out of the week.

-I have an even greater love of the Book of Mormon
-we got to go through the paper records and have a whole list of people to visit
- being stuck in an apartment for three days really bonds you
-we were able to have a lesson over video (blessed because of technology)
-we really did learned that when things fall apart in our eyes they are actually falling together in His eyes

Consider this quote by Elder Ellis, "Brothers and sisters, we can have the faith to trust Him! He wants what is best for us (see Moses 1:39). He will answer our prayers (see D&C 112:10). He will keep His promises (see D&C 1:38). He has the power to keep those promises (see Alma 37:16). He knows everything! And most important, He knows what is best (see Isaiah 55:8–9)." (the scriptures are amazing too)

I know that He has the best plan for us. We just need to have FAITH to accept His will.

On to another week of trying our best to have faith in His will and hopefully some real missionary work!
