bike week get psyched week
Holaaaaa

Still the same exciting mission life happening except this week with slightly stronger legs. As a zone we decided to sacrifice our cars to see miracles and wow was it an adventure. As Hermanas our areas are a lot bigger.  To put it into perspective, we have six sets of English missionaries that cover the same area we do. I had a bit of a hard time with it a veces. Biking wasn't the problem (I didn't even crash and no I'm not lying). I felt like we were being tons less productive because it would take us an hour to bike to places where we were only going to be for 40 minutes. But, as the week went on, we were given opportunities to talk to people we would have otherwise driven by. Honestly, we didn't see much fruit from those we talked to but we are convinced it's because we told Heavenly Father to save our miracles for May. So stay tuned.

We had tons of fun though I have countless stories of our biking adventures. I'll be easy on you and share just two- they happen to be the same night.

Let's start with a scripture.

Helaman 5:12 says,
And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Thursday we biked to the church for English class. On the way there we had a few apparent obstacles.
- quite a few hills
- over ten stop lights
- the wind

The wind was the worst. Throw a skirt in the mix and it's even more impossible. We felt like we were just fighting the wind blowing against us as we biked up the hills and as soon as we found momentum, were stopped by another stop light. As soon as we felt like we made a little progress, we would realize how much further we had to go. A few times we even thought of turning around and going home.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT SATAN DOES TO US.

He tries to beat us down as we are pedaling through our trials. He tries to slow us down as we race towards Christ. He tries to convince us that we've made no progress. He tries to get us to give up. He tells us we can't do it.

DO NOT LET HIM WIN.

Like Helaman 5:12 says, "it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

Did you read that right? If we build our foundations on Christ, WE CANNOT FALL. It doesn't say that we won't fall, it says that we physiclly can't. Yes life is hard. I feel extremely lucky for the life I have but I still have hard days. As I was fighting the hill, stop lights, and wind a quote came to my mind from a menos activo member we had just visited with the night before. I always look forward to visiting with him because he used to be a preacher so he's always got these ridiculous analogies and he says a lot of things I need to hear. He kept saying, "You have to fight for your blessings." It's so true. God loves us so much, we don't even know. But he wants us to learn. He knows we can push past the mighty winds of the adversary, but we have to be willing to allow Christ to be our foundation and fight for the blessings. I promise that as you put Christ as the center of your life and push forward with faith, your life will be better. It won't be easier but you will have the strength you need and you will not fall.

Which brings us to the second story. This one is about the great faith of my cutie comp.

We had just battled our way to the church. A ride that should've taken us 40 minutes, took an hour. We were not the prettiest or most put together Hermanas when we arrived and we only had one person show up to our class. We taught him and we realized we had less than 40 minutes to get home on time. My cute companion was slightly heated that we spent an hour getting to the church to teach someone the Elders could've taken in their class. Riding home was about the last thing she wanted to do but it was faster than the bus so it was the only way. We raced the clock home and after we sped through about the third green light in a row Hermana Hudman yells, "my prayer is working!!" She went on saying that she was praying for all green lights so we wouldn't lose our momentum and I kid you not we hit every single green light. Haha it was funny too because as we approached the very last stop light it was still red and she says, "I'm still going if this light doesn't turn" and boom it turned green. I was like "well, looks like it's not your time to go!" We made it home with 3 minutes to spare and Hna Hudman was happy as ever. Have I mentioned how much I love her? She is the greatest.

Well that is about all the entertainment I have for this week. I love you all and hope you have a happy week full of sunshine, it's been pretty sunny over here! Oh and special shout out to all you missionaries who bike alllll the time. You rock and probably have rock solid legs!

Quotes of the week:
"What are you singing?"
"I'm being Dory"

"Green means gooooooooo"

"Seesters aparecen like you have esquashes on your heads"
