One word to describe conference... ready, go!
Mine: POWERFUL.
Ah didn't you all just love it?
If you didn't have the chance to watch it yet, it is available right this second @ lds.org. I have more to say about conference but first, let me tell you a cool teaching experiecnce from the week.
We got to see the Ruiz family again! It's a super big family and we've felt we need to focus on one of the daugters. When we got there, she wasn't home and we knew we didn't want to teach what we had planned without her. We ended up having a super special lesson with the few that were there. We ended up talking about the love that Christ has for us, which was no where near the original plan. It is such a sweet moment because the Spirit was just working through us. We just knew exactly what we needed to say because of the Spirit. It is really hard to explain in words here but it was such a testimony to us that we are doing what we need to do to be worthy of the third companion in our companionship, the Holy Ghost.
Okay back to conference...
As always, there were a few themes this weekend. An over all theme I gathered was the importance of taking upon the name of Christ. As missiomaries, we wear the name of Christ on our chest everyday and we have also promised to represent Him in all times and all places. This is something I think about a lot. Is the name of Christ truly written on my heart? When we teach we should be saying what He would say, are we worthy of that?
This does not just apply to missionaries. It applies to YOU. Everyday we wake up we should ask ourselves how we can better follow Christ and take His name upon us. We have the ability to make this world a better place by loving, lifting, and ministering to others. This is an opportunity I want to take daily to better follow Christ because I know it is how we can all prepare ourselves to meet God.
This week was honestly super crazy but aren't they all? Every week has some set backs in store but it just makes the miracles that much more tender and the Lord had a full share of miracles this week. The biggest miracle was being able to hear from the prophet and leaders of the church. Being able to hear their sincere words and feel their love was something so powerful. I am a proud missionary of the Lord's Restored Church.
Quote of the week:
"Ahhh I can rest easy now knowing that I am an old hag." -Sister Hedrick on her 21st birthday.
I love you all! Have a great week!
